I am Salwani, a certified dietitian. I completed my studies in Bachelor of Dietetics with First Class Honours Degree from International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM). I have fulfilled my clinical training in both inpatient and outpatient settings at hospitals including Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (HOSHAS), Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA), Hospital Kajang, and Hospital Ampang. During my training, I have gained a variety of clinical experiences in areas such as diabetes, heart diseases, stroke, hypertension, renal diseases, nutrition during illness and after surgery, infant and childhood nutrition, and nutrition for the elderly. This has equipped me with sufficient knowledge, hence, I am very confident in my ability to provide consultation in relation to nutrition.

Committed to providing easy access to dietitian’s service to the public, I worked as a freelance dietitian, handling various cases such as weight management for weight loss and weight gain, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and cancer.  As a dietitian, I have also been invited to various talks and events -busting myths and misinformation regarding food and nutrition to the public. I am really passionate about spreading evidence-based nutrition messages and exploring a healthy way of eating that works for each individual. As I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all diet”, therefore each diet will be individualized and personalized.

Having a personal interest in the psychological side of nutrition and mindful eating, my vision is to improve public views on dieting as something that is intuitive and not restrictive. When it comes to diet, there is no fear or guilt as there is no food off-limits. What matters is balance and moderation. Fret not, as we will be prioritizing your feelings and opinions, together we will explore the best way possible to make your healthy journey more enjoyable and sustainable.
