I am Islamiah, your dedicated physiotherapist and clinical exercise specialist. I completed my physiotherapy education in 2019, graduating from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
During my studies, refined my clinical skills in different hospitals in the East Coast region, including Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) in Kuantan, Pahang, where I was trained directly by a physiotherapist specialized in sports physiotherapy and Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, where I focused in women health physiotherapy. As a student, I was invited by Lembaga Pembangunan Pertanian Pahang (LPPP) to talk on ergonomics and healthy workplace environment.
Motivated and confident about my competence and skills, I registered my services as an independent physiotherapist in August 2019, attending to house calls in areas within the Klang Valley, handling myriad of cases, including Chiari malformation, spinal cord injury, complicated fractures, stroke, and chronic pain. The courses that I had attended along the way in my journey to become a certified physiotherapist including Kinesio Taping, Neurodynamic Activation and Myofascial Release had helped me in achieving high patient satisfaction and improvement rate.
One of the achievements that I am the proudest of is when I could help a lady who had chronic back pain for almost 5 years get back on her feet and perform daily activities actively as a mother of 5 children within 2 months, despite her initial condition where she couldn’t even stand for 1 minute during the initial visit through the combination of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise interventions.
Keen to empower the public in managing their own diseases and disabilities, I have been active in spreading accurate and comprehensible information about health on social media platform. Truly believing in the phrase “Prevention is better than cure”, I tried my best to promote healthy lifestyle, and proper working and lifestyle habits to prevent the development of injuries and pain. On the same reason, I decided to pursue my studies at University Sains Malaysia (USM), specializing in clinical exercise science which stresses on the potential of exercise as an intervention to common diseases in society.
I aspire to promote healthy and sustainable lifestyle for a healthier and stronger Malaysian society. To do so, I believe communication is the key and the incorporation of activities that are meaningful to you is vital to achieve the optimum results. Curious on how I work? Let’s work together where I will unlock your potential and help you achieve the best version of yourself!
